Studio shortcuts
Everything below works in the Studio editor on a device with a keyboard. On a touch screen, every one of these has a button — the shortcuts are a shortcut, never the only way. ⌘ is Ctrl on Windows and Linux, and the app swaps the symbol for you.
Modes
- S
- Design — draw and arrange outlines
- P
- Pattern — edit the knitted edge
- E
- Edit the points of the selected shape
- Esc
- Leave, or deselect everything
- Enter
- Finish a custom shape you are drawing
Seeing the design
- F
- Fit the whole design on screen
- hold Z
- Peek at the zones — they show while you hold, and go when you let go Fn does the same
- Space + drag
- Pan with a mouse
- ⌘ + scroll
- Zoom at the pointer
- Pinch
- Zoom on a touch screen
Choosing pieces
- Tap
- Select a shape
- ⇧ Tap
- Add it to the selection

- Rubber-band everything you cross

Moving and sizing
- ← ↑ → ↓
- Nudge by one needle or row

Shaping

- Flip left-to-right

- Arm Subtract — the next shape you place cuts instead of adds

Copying

- Needles count outward from 0 at the centre — L1, L2… to the left, R1, R2… to the right.
- Rows count bottom-to-top. Row 1 is the cast-on edge.
- Zones are lettered A, B, C… in the order you knit them.
- Tap a ruler to switch it between centimetres and needles or rows.
- Italian uses a comma for decimals — 18,25.
